3.8 Configure the board

Each tile on the board can be changed to a premium or penalty square. This can only be done in between games and not during.

Clicking on "Configure", then "Board configuration" provides you with the options below:

• Clear Board Configuration (clicking this will provide you will a blank board i.e. a board without any premium or penalty tiles)
• Undo Clear (reverts the board back to the state it was last in)
• Default Board Configuration (sets the board to the Hotspots layout)
• Save Board Config... (this allows you to make your own configuration of premium and penalty tiles and save it for future use. You may save up to 20 configurations, for more detail see below)
• Choose Board Config... (allows you to choose from previously saved configurations, for more detail see below)

2W doubles the points scored for a word played over it
3W triples the points scored for a word played over it
4W quadruples the points scored for a word played over it
2L doubles the points scored for a letter played over it
3L triples the points scored for a letter played over it
4L quadruples the points scored for a letter played over it
-5 subtracts 5 points from each word played over it
-10 subtracts 10 points from each word played over it

To cycle backwards for each square simply click using your right mouse button. In this way you can easily choose the layout of the board prior to starting games.

Once you have configured the board you need to give the configuration a name. To do this click on "Configure", then "Board Configuration" followed by "Save Board Config..." and type a name into the dialog box. You can save up to 20 layouts and select them by clicking on "Configure", then "Board Configuration" and "Choose Board Config...". This setting will apply to all games until changed.
